Training Course "Case Study"

Some time ago you attended the Value Analysis / Value Management training course, Module 1, and would now like to complete Modules 2 and 3:

As you probably know, there are three modules leading to qualification as a VDI Value Analyst and Professional in Value Management.
Participation in a case study is required between Module 1 and Module 2.
Unfortunately, however, it is not always easy to take part in such a case study within your own company.

For this reason, and in response to renewed demand, we offer an external "case study training course".
In a three-day course, participants work through a case study under guidance; this counts as the prerequisite for Module 2.

The training course is delivered personally by the Managing Director of Value Coaching Marchthaler, Dr.-Ing. Jörg Marchthaler. Alongside his consulting work, he also chairs the VDI Value Management and Value Analysis Division in Germany.

Maximum of 10 participants.
The course language is German.

“The well-structured Value Analysis / Value Management training course teaches both the methodology and the systematic approach of Value Analysis through practical examples and active participation. The small group created a pleasant atmosphere and allowed specific problems of the participants to be addressed. I can recommend the course to anyone who works in projects!”

“Many thanks for the extremely flexible and tailored design of the training for Modules 1 to 3. Wherever possible, you took our wishes regarding location, content, intensity and sequence into account without ever losing sight of the objective. Technically and methodologically, you came across as exceptionally knowledgeable and well structured, and you left none of our questions unanswered. We were particularly impressed by the way you facilitated the team, even in ‘hectic’ situations. With your support, we are now able to implement and apply Value Analysis confidently within the company. Finally, I would like to thank you very much for your commitment and wish you and your future trainees continued success.”

“The Value Analysis / Value Management Module 1 training course presents the structured set-up of a Value Analysis project and the many applications and effects of Value Analysis in a practical, vivid way. As a cost analyst, I particularly valued learning to identify cost-driving functions analytically and to create cost-benefit diagrams.”

“The Value Analysis / Value Management Module 1 training course, held online because of COVID-19, gave me a very good introduction to Value Analysis, and Mr Marchthaler was also able to show the added value compared with Six Sigma and the link to TRIZ. Using what is actually a simple example, several breakout sessions developed and illustrated the complex relationships between requirements, stakeholders and cost drivers, as well as functions and their implementation. Step by step, the relevant tools and the methodology were presented in a very application-oriented way. I found Mr Marchthaler to be a very committed and competent trainer who guided us through the topics in a lively manner, knew how to motivate the participants and answered their questions in a way that offered additional value even to experienced practitioners.”

“The Value Analysis / Value Management Module 1 training course provides a very good introduction to Value Analysis. “A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending Dr Jörg Marchthaler’s Value Analysis (Value Engineering / Value Management) Module 1 training course. Instead of three days in Cologne, COVID-19 meant three days of online training at the computer – the organisation and technology were excellent and, thanks to the motivated participants, it was very instructive, including a joint "remote online" gin tasting ;)”

“Last year I attended the ‘Value Management & Value Analysis M1’ training course to broaden my skills as a cost and value engineer and to learn new methods and approaches. The course completely exceeded my expectations. From the very beginning, Mr Marchthaler raised many topics that were new to me. We were then able to examine these topics and their background in detail and develop our own solutions. I also found the team facilitation very good and professional. The atmosphere was always very pleasant, open and relaxed, and everyone could ask questions and bring their own problems into the discussion. Personally, I found this training extremely valuable and would like to attend the next two modules soon.”

“Mr Marchthaler taught the various Value Analysis methods in an extremely systematic and memorable way. He succeeded in placing the many methods – some of them familiar – in a logical context, and during the course he gave us an extremely helpful ‘recipe’ for our own Value Analysis projects. A perfect and highly practical preparation for our own Value Analysis projects!
I would particularly highlight the excellent structure of the online course, which for me sets the benchmark for all future online training.”

“In the Value Analysis / Value Management training course I learned the function-oriented thinking of Value Analysis in a good, practical learning atmosphere. By applying the new knowledge – for example benchmarking competitor products – I was able to carry out a detailed function-cost analysis and pinpoint possible areas for action very precisely. This enabled me to contribute effectively to developing lower-cost products with higher customer value.”

“What matters most to me in Value Analysis is identifying the cost-driving functions in our product and aligning our products with the functions customers need. That is why I attended the Value Analysis training course by Value Coaching Marchthaler, which gave me an excellent overview of the Value Analysis method. Particularly relevant for me was a continuous example used to work through all the methods. I will definitely continue the training to become a VDI Value Analyst and can recommend this approach to anyone working in cost engineering.”
