How can Value Analysis help companies prepare the use of artificial intelligence in a structured way? Dr.-Ing. Jörg Marchthaler spoke on this topic at the VDI Value Analysis Conference 2026.

On the second day of the 25th VDI Value Analysis Conference, Dr.-Ing. Jörg Marchthaler gave the presentation “AI Transformation in the Company – How Value Analysis Enables Sustainable AI Adoption”.
The official conference programme lists four focal points: challenges in introducing AI in overhead areas; Value Analysis as a structured approach to making processes visible and identifying bottlenecks; function-oriented working instead of a purely task-based focus; and examples of the use of AI in Value Analysis projects.
The approach thus links two subject areas: Value Analysis provides a structured perspective on functions, processes and benefits; AI can then be considered where it supports specific functions or improves existing workflows.
Marchthaler then also took part in the panel discussion “Artificial Intelligence in Value Analysis – Potential, Limits and Responsibility”.
