At the 22nd VDI Value Analysis Conference in Waldkirch, the Value Analysis project of motan holding gmbh received the VDI Value Management Award 2023.
The VDI presented the Value Management Award 2023 on 25 April 2023 at the Value Analysis Practice Day in Waldkirch. The award went to the project “Value Analysis redesign of a gravimetric blending and metering system” by motan holding gmbh.
The VDI emphasised that the project had been carried out and documented systematically in accordance with the Value Analysis Work Plan. The range of methods used included key buying criteria, competitive benchmarking, price-benefit analysis and QFD. Alongside cost reduction, the focus was in particular on increasing the product's benefit for different target groups.
For Value Coaching, the award is particularly relevant because the winning project was carried out with the support of Dr.-Ing. Jörg Marchthaler. At the award ceremony, Marchthaler was also present as Chair of the VDI Value Management / Value Analysis Division.
The example shows how Value Analysis considers costs, functions and customer value together and thus goes beyond pure optimisation of component or purchasing costs.
